I originally fell in love with these shoes. For $51, getting nice suede leather is absolutely brilliant. Within weeks I had to replace the laces, not a big deal.
After a year, the rubber soles separated from the leather. Leather is still good, sole is still good, but reattaching is not happening. Even tried shoe glue. Clarks had only glued the soles, while other, non-rubber chucka boots are sewed through to the bottom of the soles (which I think is better).
Other side note: prime day special deal for my size is $92, the equivalent European size is $48 (as I write this review). I had previously bought what I thought was size 10.5; to get half off, buy European size.
Second side note: I have narrow feet and these are not optimal for narrow feet.
I did not get it in the original box and the tag that comes with the shoe was missing and the size is not the true fit so now I have to wear thick socks or stuff the toes, not cool, I am not liking it hoping that I could send it back not it is not possible that this time. It is best that you buy direct from Clarkes sit straight up
I don't understand all the raves about this boot. These aren't man boots, they're more like Uggs without the fuzzy lining. From 10 feet away, they could be mistaken for fleece slippers from TJ Maxx, and they're built like canvas sneakers -- flat and loose on the insole (an insert definitely helped), and with no lining on the uppers or tongue (they can barely stand up on their own). And with only 2 eyelets, it's hard to anchor your foot properly, so my heel kept popping up. You want yourself a pair of man boots, get a pair of Clarks Wallace Cap Boots if you can -- rough, tough, manly suede that can double as a razor if you need to shave a few whiskers off.
Clark's is a name brand shoe which I love and wear all the time. I bought my son these boots in October. He loves wearing them. He came home in December for Christmas and the suede is separating from the soles. (I had bought him a brown pair for Christmas) now I am not real happy because these shoes are not cheap. According to Amazon, I can't exchange them. I regret the 1st pair I bought expecting better quality and hopefully the second pair is of better quality, but won't be buying another pair of these shoes.
