Silvia viene ritrovata in casa da suo marito appesa al lampadario della loro camera da letto, ma non è morta, ha solo perso i sensi e Paolo fa in tempo a chiamare i soccorsi e a salvarle la vita.
Quando però Silvia si risveglia dal coma nel reparto di Terapia Intensiva Neurologica, non ha la più pallida idea di come ci sia arrivata e cosa le sia successo. Inoltre l’incidente, come lo chiamerà sempre lei, le ha causato un ictus ischemico che ha ridotto notevolmente la sua capacità di movimento e quella della parola.
Ma al contrario di ciò che tutti più o meno si aspettano Silvia, sicura del fatto che mai avrebbe potuto togliersi la vita, non si arrenderà all’evidenza dei fatti, né alla demolizione che ha subito il suo corpo. Accetterà di buon grado le cure, le sedute di fisioterapia, quelle con il foniatra e dallo psicoterapeuta, pur di riappropriarsi della sua vita e dimostrare a tutti che le cose non sono come possono sembrare e vogliono farle credere.
Con l’aiuto di suo padre e della figlia Marianna cercherà in ogni modo di recuperare il pezzo di memoria che le manca e che contiene i ricordi che ha perso, proprio quelli che precedono il suo suicidio. Per farlo dovrà ricostruire gli eventi che le sono accaduti e andare a scavare nel suo passato dove, si renderà conto, affondano le radici del male che l’ha investita e che, pezzo per pezzo, la porterà a una verità che mai avrebbe potuto immaginare.

Silvia is found at home by her husband, hanging from the chandelier in their bedroom. She is not dead, she just lost consciousness, and Paolo has time to call for help and save her life.
But when Silvia wakes up from a coma in the Neurological Intensive Care Unit, she has absolutely no idea how she got there and what happened to her. In addition, the accident, as she will always refer to it, causes her an ischemic stroke, which significantly reduces her ability to move as well as speak.
But, contrary to everyone’s expectations Silvia, certain she would have never committed suicide, will not surrender to the evidence of the facts, nor to the damages to her body. She gladly complies with the treatments, the physiotherapy sessions, the sessions with the speech therapist and the psychotherapist, in order to take control of her life and show everyone that things are not the way they seem and certainly not what they want her to believe.
With the help of her father and daughter Marianna, she will attempt in every way to recover that part of her memory that is missing, containing the retentions she has lost, immediately preceding her suicide. To accomplish this, she will have to reconstruct the events that have happened to her and dig into her past, where she will find the roots of her bad luck, which, piece by piece, will lead her to a truth that she could never have imagined .
