Another good and comfortable pair of shoes from Merrell, especially at the price of £36 from Amazon. They consist of a light weight mesh with senthetic overlays to allow your feet to breathe and let the air in . . . a bit like a cosier more secure sandal with toe protection and great tred. I wear mine without socks in complete comfort and valued them in the recent hot weather we've had, my feet stayed cool and aired. Im a size 10.5 but purchased an 11 due to other merrells i had recently aquired coming up small and im very pleased with the fit. To echo the words of my fellow 5* Star reviewer: Please note that these shoes are not waterproof and were never supposed to be, they are designed to be the exact opposite. (The soles are thick enough to stop general surface rain water from entering the shoes.)
The Merrel waterpro trainers are designed for watersports, not for hard mountain walking. I use mine for summer walking though for less rugged terrain and they are fine, but in general they are everyday trainers for wearing during the summer. They are not fully enclosed, as they are designed to drain water out of them, but that also means that they are light and cool if, like me, you get very hot feet during the summer months. These are the second pair I have owned, after the last pair wore out ( 6 years on I will admit ), and are as comfortable out of the box as the old ones were. i hope they last as long.
