This was when I hit problems. My TV showed "No Signal", and the visor just showed an icon which I can only presume means there is a problem with one or more of the HDMI cables. I checked all the connections. I tried switching everything off, swapping the cable from the PS4 to the processor with the one from the processor to the TV. No change. I went out and bought a superior HDMI lead and tried that between the processor and the TV. No change. I used a better HDMI cable between the PS4 and the processor. No change. The only other HDMI lead in the set is the one that is part of the bundle fixed into the visor.
This product (PSVR) has been on the market for over 2 years now, and Sony still can't get it right. I have returned the product to Amazon as I have lost faith in this system, and now don't know if I will buy from a physical location, or I will go for a different product entirely
I bought this mega pack for my 10yr olds birthday, to share with my 16 yr old and husband.
My husband downloaded the games from the VR code. He did it on the child’s account simply as it was the one he was using to set everything up. Because play station knows the ages of each user it didn’t download several of the games. The code is used up now and invalid if you put it into the other users accounts. No where on the brief instructions does it say this. There was no warning shown when you went to download the games explaining you would lose entitlement to the other games.
My husband emailed PlayStation explaining what had happened and asking if he could please have a code for the other games that were now lost to us. PlayStation said tough luck.
I’m furious. I can understand why they have the child locks on on these games but it should be made explicitly clear on the voucher or a warning pop up on screen that this would happen.
I now have a disappointed 16yr old and a miffed husband.
I will be complaining to amazon and hoping they might be more helpful.
Also the strange omission of no native support for 3d movie files as well, the one 3rd party app that supported this now charges a subscription fee and seems a bit dodgy, so in essence one of the key strengths of VR (3d movie support) doesnt really exist on the PSVR anymore
A lot of the games are amazing, astrobot may just be the best VR game on any system (and I have a Rift s, a quest and I had this before I had to refund) PSVR has loads of other fantastic exclusives as well, like blood and truth, wipeout, re7 VR (which is amazing) but sadly a lot of games require or are enhanced by using move controllers but sadly they are far from fit for purpose.
The tracking is just terrible due to it just being a ping pong ball on a stick, and if you have any games where you need to turn around... forget about it. Sony obviously decided to save some money by using these and it's a terrible decision, a lot of games have suffered because of these and the janky camera.
Even just sitting there playing games like astrobot can result in "drift" meaning your head is no longer centrered, the camera is just too low resoltion to track the headset properly nad has to be reset every hour or so to keep track. not what you expect from an expensive system (it was expensive as hell at launch)
It was too much for me and I had to refund as the tracking issues meant it just wasn't worth the hassle. I will stick to my Rift s instead and be saad I can't play RE7 anymore.
