Definitely received boots that weren’t new.

These boots arrived in an unmarked cardboard box stating that the original box had been damaged in shipping. The photos attached are from as soon as I removed them from the box and plastic. I had not put them on. You can clearly see that the one boot has been walked in enough to distress the leather as well as having obvious signs on the tongue of having been worn with the laces tied for a while. The other shoe has a small amount of wear on the sole, although the upper of that shoe looks fine. They are not worn a lot, but they definitely have been worn for a period of time before. Maybe as a try on at a shoe store or maybe someone wore them a few days around the house and returned them. Not sure. I am not dissatisfied enough to go to the trouble of returning them since I got them on a cyber Monday sale at a great price. If I had paid 60-70 dollars for them, I would have returned them.

I liked the appearance of these boots, and I was happy to find a boot that fit my rather wide feet. They were longer than other shoes of the same size, so I reordered a smaller size which fit better. Unfortunately, they were very stiff, with no support or cushion at all. I ended up returning them.

I need a big toe box, and these didn't have it. Felt like my big toe was being smashed down. That's because my toe is weird, so don't sweat it unless you too need a big toe box. But the inside of these also felt very hard, flat and uncomfortable. No arch support to speak of. Just a stiff, uncomfortable shoe. (With a small toe box.)

Poor design and unlined

I normally wear 10 or 10 1/2 3E/4E wide shoes including Clarks Unstructured Sheridan (that is still the most durable and comfortable shoes for wide feet). I ordered these in 10 1/2 W and they were swimming on my feet. Unlike a lot of shoe designs these shoes do have a large opening and long tongue that allows even the thickest feet easy entrance. Unfortunately, these shoes only have two pairs of eyelets and they are very low on the shoe. Combined with the cheap (and ugly) knit laces there is no way to cinch up the mouth of the shoe and it gapes around your ankle.

The finish is an oil or beeswax finish that is matte brown like a Doc Marten. The shoe has no real lining or padding and felt very minimalist. The sole isn’t much better and worse it had a weird bubble shape under the ball of your foot (see pics). I bought a pair of Nunn Bush and Florsheim’s of similar design and the Nunn Bush shoes are much nicer with lining and 3-eyelet laces. The Florsheims despite being 3E have a very narrow opening and really require a shoehorn to get my fat foot in so they are a no-go.

Cheaply made

Looks pretty decent at first but it's cheaply made. It only stayed black for a couple weeks until whatever polish they used on it started to leave. Boots looks weird and discolored unless you actually Polish it yourself and even then it's only a temporary fix. Material is also a bit cheap. I've been wearing it for not even two months and it already looks like it's been at least a year and a half.

Not worth the money. Feels like a $30 boot.

Update** rubber on the bottom started to lift after another month. Honestly don't waste your money on this thing. Seems I'm gonna have to buy new shoes again.

Great look - poorly made

I love the look of these chukka's but they are very poorly made. I wore them once and they wore blisters on both my ankles and the glue is coming undone in the heel (my bad for not heeding the warning by others in several reviews that were posted). I am trying to return but since it is over 30 days I had to call Clarks direct. I was on hold for over 35 minutes before anyone answered. As you guessed, they were no help. They suggested I contact Amazon to resolve (I was told their process would take at least a month to resolve and then all they would issue would be a store credit). I would suggest that you not purchase this product not only because of poor construction but also for the lack of customer service. As a side note...I did contact Amazon and they are refunding the purchase but are charging a re-stocking fee.

Recently ordered these shoes for my son. His regular size, is an 11. They came in, and were huge on him. Returned them for a size 10...still too large. Now returning for the third time, hoping a 9 will work.
Very nicely made shoe, but the sizes are way off!

The boot looks good, seems like it's a quality product, but holy moly is it uncomfortable. I had it on for a few minutes and I knew I could never wear this. It's a very stiff leather and was digging into my ankles. I can't recommend it.
